The singer and songwriter has made a quick rise up the ranks since he was unveiled in 2021 as an addition to Mavin Records, delighting fans with soul-inflected cuts like “Love Don’t Cost A Dime,” “All Over,” and “Shaye.” Where he leaned into a more expansive afropop sound in 2022, Magixx meshed those afropop sonics into a neo-soul framework on his 2023 records, exploring desire and trust on his first release, “Colors (My Baby)/Loyal.”
His second release of the year, “Maria,” was released in praise of a love interest before a performance at the 02 Arena as part of Ravage Uprising.
