To commemorate her 22nd birthday, Global Nigerian superstar Ayra Starr partnered with the Lagos Food Bank initiative, a non-profit organization committed to combating hunger and providing a sustainable means of living to vulnerable persons in underserved communities across Nigeria. The outreach took place on June 19th and was centered on feeding 21 families within the Agege Community of Lagos State.
In attendance were members of the Mavin team and the LFBI Team, as well as the beneficiaries of this initiative. The outreach program consisted of a short term and long term approach; The former involved distributing 21 boxes with enough food to sustain a family of five for two to three weeks, while the latter set them up with adequate resources for poultry farming, an occupation that can sustain these families for life.
Activities included a refresher course on poultry farming for the beneficiaries, a tour of the LFBI facility and the distribution of the food boxes and poultry resources. These items were well received by the mothers of these families, who expressed their heartfelt gratitude with prayers and appreciation for Ayra Starr and the Lagos Food Bank Initiative.
“I’m just so grateful for the opportunity to partner with the Lagos Food Bank Initiative and use my platform in such a meaningful and impactful way,” Ayra Starr says. “I can’t imagine a better way to celebrate my 22nd birthday,” She adds.
