Job Description:

Mavin is looking for a detail-oriented finance associate to assist our Director of Finance with day-to-day financial procedures. You will manage account records, revise and update financial reports, and prepare financial data for audits, reviews, and taxation. To ensure success as a Finance Associate, you should possess in-depth knowledge of best practices in financial management and experience in a similar environment. An outstanding finance associate will be someone whose expertise results from accurate financial reporting and ecient account management.

Our ideal candidate should be able to help us maintain our company’s financial health and make sure we use our resources beneficially.

  • Update financial spreadsheet with daily transactions.
  • Prepare balance sheets
  • Track and reconcile bank statement
  • Process Tax payments
  • Record account payable and accounts receivable
  • Process invoices and follow up with clients, internal customers, and partners as needed
  • Provide administrative support during budget preparation
  • Participate in quarterly and annual budgets
  • Assisting with the preparation of financial statements and reports.
  • Processing requisition and other business forms
  • Advise other departments on best practices related to fiscal procedures.
  • Collaborating with internal departments to reconcile any accounting discrepancies.
  • Analyzing financial data and assisting with audits, reviews, and tax preparations.
  • Updating financial spreadsheets and reports with the latest available data.
  • Review existing financial policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Keeping records and documenting financial processes.
  • Other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications:
  • BSc degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics
  • At least 2 years experience working as a finance associate.
  • Good knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping procedures
  • Advanced MS Excel skills (creating spreadsheets and using financial functions)
  • Familiarity with accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks)
  • Organisational and time-management skills
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
  • Great analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Attention to detail, with an ability to spot numerical errors
